Old Man of Hoy, Strathconnan and the Lakes

Just home from a brilliant 8 days of rock guiding – Old man of Hoy, Orkney sea cliffs, and a brilliant day on Salamander – a 6 pitch HVS on Creag Ghlas up Strathconnan. This crag has amazing rock and a beautiful setting up a remote and picturesque glen – well worth a trip. After that some dodgy weather forced a moved south, and we spent the next 4 days ticking classic rock routes in the Lake District – Troutdale Pinnacle, Little Chamonix, Bracket and Slab, Gillercombe Buttress etc – great stuff. Cheers to Hugh and Ju for a good trip! btw the finishing crack on OMHoy definitely seems to be getting wider…
