I’ve been doing a spot of private guiding, organising a week of Chamonix Alpine Climbing with Chris and David this week – thanks for your great company on the hill – whilst Rob’s been running a Technical Alpine Climbing Course with Matt and Gregor – two very strong performers – Rob was suitably impressed, so good luck with the climbing guys.
The week culminated in ascents of the Tour Ronde and Dent du Geant on Friday.
Current Alpine Climbing Conditions:
Things are evolving fast, as it’s getting hot now – we’ve had little refreeze overnight this week outside huts in the mornings, so not good for ice routes and bergschrunds are opening significantly at the base of many faces. Rock routes on the other hand are drying out and coming into very good condition, with plenty of activity on the Midi and east face of MB de Tacul this week. Next weeks forecast is continuing very hot, so best for rock and ridge climbs.
