First day out of the season in the Alps for Malcolm Roberts and myself – a good days rock climbing in the Aiguilles Rouges to get acclimatised. We headed up to Flegere and climbed Fraise des Boatchs, an 11 pitch 5c leading to the summit of the Grand Floria. Teams on Asia and Eperon Sublime nearby made for some good photography too.
There’s still quite a bit of snow around in the Aig Rouges, so boots and an axe are still a good idea for many approaches at the moment.
