First Turns…

A bit of snowfall research, 1 last minute appartment booking and a mail redirect to Santa – and we’re now happily installed in Saas Almagell, ready for a ski-to-the-door Xmas.  The local lifts opened yesterday, though I’d done a couple of days training – skinning around the area, so knew where to head first to find good snow.

There’s great untracked powder lying in the woods here, with enough cover to give good skiing without knocking holes out of your bases.  Best of all, there’s not a single other skier going off piste, so it’s fresh tracks every run – Yeehaa!

Jake had his 1st day on skis today too, after chasing his older brother round the nursery slope trying to join in.  He only turned two last month, so I’d no plans to start him just yet - but finally gaving in to a sustained onslaught of toddler pestering.

He obviously had something to prove though and turned out to be a natural – ‘Fasta Daddy, Fasta!’ …..Oh Lordy, what have we done!
